Meet the Teacher

My name is Heidi, and I am an elementary school teacher.  I am just finishing up my 3rd year of teaching.  My first year of teaching was spent with 5th graders, and the last two years I was teaching 3rd.  I loved them both, but now I am about to make a new change.  Next year, I am moving to Kindergarten!  So I guess that means my blog name will have to change!

I 100% love working with children.  It truly is an honor to be a part of a child's learning process.  Each time a child learns something, it is almost as though you can see a spark of excitement and achievement in their eyes.  A small colorful (think fireworks) celebration has occurred within themselves.  I LOVE it!  (O.K. this might seem cheesy, but it really is amazing.)  And, well, there you have it.  The meaning behind my blog name Colorful Sparks!

My blog is a collection of my own ideas and those found elsewhere.  (I bet you could guess a website I enjoy using.)  I enjoy dancing, singing, and crafting, and I enjoy a good sense of humor.
